Meet Bill Liu

Bill Liu is a global bridge-builder, dedicated to helping companies expand beyond borders. He builds bridges—not just between countries, but between ambition and achievement.

For over two decades, he’s helped U.S. companies navigate the intricacies of China’s vast market, while guiding Asian firms through the complexities of American business. With laser-focused strategy, Bill turns global ambition into real-world results.

As Founder and Principal of NaviAsia Advisors, he has driven over 80% of the firm’s business, earning the title Top China Consultant by Crain’s Chicago Business. From $100M startups to $3B enterprises, Bill architects entry into new markets, optimizes cost structures, and drives enduring value. His work is about transmutation—of ideas into action, ambition into achievement.

He also serves as North America Executive Director of the Hurun Report, China’s leading authority on private wealth. There, he leads U.S. expansion and global partnerships —connecting high-net-worth individuals, global brands, and new opportunities.

An energetic speaker and respected educator, Bill has delivered insights on over 100 stages—including keynote spots at Kellogg’s China Conference and the International Housewares Show—and lectures at top universities across the U.S., China, and Vietnam.

His career began in engineering and consulting, with the manager’s roles at Lucent Technologies, PwC, and in environmental R&D. Bill holds a PhD in Environmental Engineering (University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign) and an MBA from Northwestern’s Kellogg School, where he triple-majored in Marketing, Finance, and International Business. He’s also a registered professional engineer and a Diplomate of the American Academy of Environmental Engineers.

With a PhD in Engineering and an MBA from Kellogg, Bill blends technical rigor with global business insight. He sits on boards in the U.S., China, and Taiwan, and leads civic initiatives that help communities thrive—like launching Naperville’s first Chinese-language website and chairing Illinois’ largest Asian social service agency—Xilin Association.

Rich spent 24 years shaping applications at LSC Communications after a decade at Waste Management—honing his skills in problem-solving, teamwork, and strategic thinking.

His world extends far beyond computer keyboards and screens:

Woodworker extraordinaire, crafting dreams from local timber.
Globe-trotter & mountain hiker, forever chasing horizons and high-altitude vistas.
Devoted volunteer, whose generosity echoes through dozens of organizations.

Rich’s commitment to service isn’t just meaningful—it’s monumental:

One Brick: A volunteer since 2007, Rich has participated in over 480 events and has been a trusted Event Manager since November 2015. One Brick is a nationwide nonprofit that makes volunteering easy through organized, commitment-free events.
Chinese American Museum of Chicago: Serving as Finance Chair since January 2013, he brings financial wisdom and organizational insight.
XiLin Association: Secretary since April 2018, guiding cultural and educational initiatives with steady leadership.

Beyond boardrooms, Rich’s caring spirit shines across a wide spectrum of nonprofits: from Bolingbrook food pantries and medical centers to Chicago’s Chinatown and national charities like Meals on Wheels, St. Jude’s, and Ronald McDonald House. Since May 2023, he has volunteered with Ride Assist Naperville, driving seniors to medical appointments, and has provided comforting companionship through Gentiva Hospice Care.

Nestled in Bolingbrook, Illinois, Rich is the proud father of Sarah, a creative graphic designer. He infuses his craftsmanship with creativity—donating a beautifully handcrafted picnic cutting board at a CAMOC fundraiser. A seasoned traveler and avid mountain hiker, Rich continually seeks new perspectives and fresh adventures.

Rich lives at the intersection of technical rigor, cultural stewardship, and volunteer-driven impact. His woodworking speaks to meticulous attention to detail; his board roles reflect strategic vision; and his hands-on service proves a heart committed to community.

Meet Bob Schillerstrom

Attorney | Leader | Builder | Advocate

For over four decades, Bob Schillerstrom has been at the heart of progress in DuPage County — a dedicated public servant, respected attorney, and trusted leader known for turning big ideas into lasting impact.

A proud Naperville native, Bob’s journey began with academic distinction: high honors in Religion and History from Illinois College, Phi Beta Kappa induction, and a law degree earned with honors from Chicago-Kent College of Law. He has spent his career bridging policy, people, and purpose.

As a partner at Ice Miller LLP, Bob advises clients across the public and private sectors, navigating complex government affairs, finance, and strategic development. But his public service is equally distinguished. Bob served three terms as Chairman of the DuPage County Board, where he achieved the rare feat of cutting property taxes nine times — all while preserving a AAA bond rating and advancing infrastructure countywide.

In 2015, Bob was appointed Chairman of the Illinois Tollway Board. Under his leadership, the agency transitioned toward all-electronic tolling and awarded over $1 billion in contracts to minority, women and veteran-owned businesses — a powerful testament to his commitment to both innovation and equity.

Bob’s legacy is also rooted in the land. As Chairman of the Morton Arboretum Board, and through previous roles with the Naperville Park District and DuPage Forest Preserve, he has championed environmental stewardship and preserved thousands of acres of open space for future generations.

His leadership has earned wide recognition:
